Virginia is a very important historical place for Americans and a big part of American History. Actually it was one of the first states and the birth place of the founder and first president of the United States, George Washington.

What if immigrants from the Former Yugoslavic Republic of partially part of the geographic area of Macedonia (FYROM), who's capital is Skopjia, controlled a part of Virginia and Skopjia named that part "Republic of Virginia ". And what if the Skopjians claimed that since they now occupy a part of the original Virginia, George Washington was not an American but a Virginian of Skopjian decent and that George Washington is a part of Skopjian history. Does occupation of Virginian soil by the Skopjians have anything to do with the Skopjians taking away American History and Heritage from the American People? What if we let the Skopjians to publish books, telling our children what they falsely claim? The results of such apathy on our part would be devastating. Losing one's history and heritage puts in question your entity and existence. If you come from nothing, you are by definition a big NOTHING. What would the American people and government do then?

In reality, since the communist dictator Tito, decided to create a deferent identity for the people of FYROM, the Skopjians are trying to steal Hellenic(Greek) History and Heritage away from the Greek People. The Greeks, with more than 5,000 years of history, will never accept this. The Skopjians, by falsely identifying themselves, put their very existence in grave danger. If you came from a lie you are a lie. For how long do you thing you can build on a lie?

The land that is occupied by southern FYROM, western Albania, eastern Bulgaria and northern Greece, belonged during the ancient times (from 2000 BC ), to the Ancient Macedonians which were one of the Ancient Hellenic(Greek) tribes. Ancient Macedonia is the birth place of Alexander the Great (who was born in Pela [the capital of ancient Macedonia] 356 BC, which is today a part of northern Greece), who was the first king of the Greeks ( Old Testament, Daniel 8:21 ). As an ancient Hellene(Greek), Alexander the Great united all of the ancient Hellenic tribes and together they conquered the Ancient World, spreading the Hellenic culture and language throughout their empire.

Since the Skopjians(of Slavic decent) occupy a small part of the land which once belonged to the ancient Macedonians, the Skopjians believe that they have the right to rename their country Macedonia and with this name they are claiming that they are the descendants of the ancient Macedonians and that Alexander the Great was not Greek.

Even though FYROM, who's capital, Skopjia is not even in the geographic area of Macedonia, occupies a small part of the land which once belonged to the ancient Hellenic tribe of Macedonia, it does not give the Skopjians the right to use the name Macedonia as the new name of their country or to falsely claim that Alexander the Great was a Skopjian. The reason simply being that the Slavic People (such as the Skopjians), came down from the north(the Ukraine and North-Eastern Europe) conquering and occupying the areas in the Balkans, from the 6th Century AD, pushing the Hellenic (Greek) People (such as the Macedonians) to the Southern part of the Balkans, down to where Thesaloniki is. Thus the land (the Northern Balkans) which once belonged to the ancient Macedonians for over 2500 years (from 2000 BC to 800AD [the beginning of the Slavic invasions] ) was being taken over by the Slavic People.

Therefore land is won and land is lost but a peoples history (such as the Hellen's) can never be taken away from them! Thus the three words, Hellas(Greece) Macedonia and Alexander the Great are historically and eternally, interconnected and inseparable, as the United States, Virginia and George Washington are similarly, historically and eternally, interconnected and inseparable.

We, the members of H.O.U.G.A. strongly believe that revisionism is a dirty political game, and we ask from our government to put a stop to the Skopjian government's attempt in trying to steal Hellenic(Greek) history and heritage away from the Hellenic people by NOT RECOGNIZING the new name for FYROM, as Macedonia. For there is only one truth. For there is only one history, for their is only one Macedonia, and that was is and will always be Hellenic (Greek).
